KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has introduced a new system for processing of development approvals which allows real estate developers to get faster approval.
Mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib said the system known as “Kuala Lumpur Integrated Submission, Be Systematic, and Transparent” (KL IS BEST), is expected to shorten the processing period to only four months from six to eight months currently.
“Under this system, only one development approval application is submitted to DBKL as the engineering, landscape and fire prevention plans are lumped together.
“It will also avoid conflicts and overlapping of development plans which usually occur in the One Stop Centre Secretariat or OCS system.
“We hope this system can reduce the bureaucracy of getting development approvals.
“For starter, DBKL has identified outstanding developers to sign MoU with DBKL for the purpose of reviewing and submitting development plan applications to DBKL,” he said at the the launch of “KL IS BEST” and signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Integrity Pact DBKL here today.
Ahmad Phesal said among the ten project developers identified are KLCC Property Holdings Berhad, IJM Properties Sdn Bhd, Continental City Sdn Bhd, Primamuda Holdings Sdn Bhd and Ekovest Properties Sdn Bhd. — BERNAMA
