CONTRIBUTION OF A VAN AND PAVILLION TO SEKOLAH MENENGAH AGAMA KUALA LUMPUR (SMKAKL)

Y.Bhg, Dato' Sri Zohari Bin Haji Akob, Secretary General, Ministry of Works Malaysia, witnessed the Handing over of the Van and Pavilion Event on behalf of Ekovest Berhad to the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Kuala Lumpur, located in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong, in conjunction with the Gotong Royong activities held with parents and students. 


SMKAKL is located near to the alignment of the DUKE Phase 2 which is currently under construction.  
The DUKE has been a used by the community especially in Kuala Lumpur as an alternative to combat the congestion problem in the city centre.  Ekovest Berhad is conducting its corporate, social responsibilities to the SMKAKL, by contributing a van and a pavilion for use by the SMKAKL students totaling RM 529,720.00.


Y.Bhg Dato’ Sri Zohari supported the efforts and contributions from Ekovest Berhad who have worked hard to construct and finish the pavilion in a short amount of time to allow for the use of the facility for students, for their use in the near time to come.  YBhg. Datuk Seri Lim Keng Cheng, Ekovest Berhad managing director, was also present to support and celebrate the event. It was hoped that the contribution of the van and pavilion will be used as a medium to help the students of SMKAKL in their academic aspect as well as the co-curriculum activities.  Additionally, Y.BhgDato Sri’ Zohari further encouraged contributions like today to be followed by other private companies because it involved a corporate social responsibility to a government body.  Other private companies were called upon to work with the government in conducting any programmes or community activities in the future and always welcomed initiatives and cooperation from private companies to develop the country for the preservation and transformation of the country, he further elaborated. 


The Event concluded in a gotong royong activity to clean the school area together with parents and students to encourage a great sense of community between the school, private companies and also the students of SMKAKL.
